NOTE FOR PASTOR JOHNSON'S 1ST SUNDAY MESSAGE 9/6/2015

Posted by: Shirley Smith on Mon, Sep 7, 2015

"PURPOSE OF THE CHURCH"

Pastor Johnson’s message came from Matthew 16:18, Acts 9:31, and Revelation 22:10-17. The topic was “Purpose of the Church” with the following sub topics:

“Prevail”

The church is in your heart. It is not the building. The building cannot save you. The church has to be within you. We have to have faith abiding in us. We have to stand on the faith (rock). If you stand on faith, nothing can come up against you. Any tribulations or temptations cannot move you if you have the faith and stand on that faith.

“Learn”

The church had to be raised and lifted up. Remember the church is within you. The church is edified (lifted) by how you act and how you walk (live). Others are watching you. Do you take the time to learn God’s way and what the word of God says? Seek and study the word of God to learn His way and not your way or the world’s way.

 “Prepare”

We have to be in a preparation mode all our lives. Prepare yourself for eternal life. When the time comes, if you are unjust stay unjust, if you are filthy, still be filthy, and those who are righteous and holy let him be holy still. The Lord is the beginning of our life and He will be at the end of our life. You have to wash your sins away by the Word of God. If you don’t wash that spirit, change and connect to God, you cannot get into the Kingdom. Some are not getting in the Kingdom. Sinners, sorcerers, adulteries, murders, fornicators, idolaters, nor liars, will not get into the Kingdom. If you hear the words and understand, come and take the words out freely. Prevail, Learn, and Prepare. This will determine where you will live eternally.

Please read the scriptures and be blessed!
